my two embryos

I wasn't going to blog about the past week, but I decided to anyway... One week ago today, Mario and I had our embryo transfer. I started with 3 eggs, but only two fertilized... Hey, It only takes one egg to take and get me pregnant, so I am double happy with two. Dr. Miller LOVED the way the eggs looked as well as the cells in the eggs. It was such an emotional thing to watch. Dr. Miller allowed Mario in the room as she transferred the embryos into my uterus. I was emotional about 30 minutes BEFORE that! Dr. Miller showed us a picture of our embryos...and instantly I became attached. I want them both!
My two embryos.

After the procedure, I went home, ate lunch and got into bed for the next 6 hours. I did the same thing on Tuesday as well. My life as I knew it was over (for the next week anyway). I am not allowed to workout, lift anything heavy or be stressed... That's kinda hard for me since I am used to going 160 MPH everyday! I talked myself into believing that this is a GREAT time to decompress, take time off from the gym, which hasn't been since August of 2012! YEP! That long. Maybe a week here and there, but NO more than 6-7 days! So, I know deep inside my crazy brain, I need the rest.

It was pretty easy to take the week off, and quite honestly, I can't believe how quickly last week flew by!

Now onto the second week, the week where I have so many thoughts in my head, a restless body that wants so bad to run and lift and a heart that just wants to have a baby.... or two.

Here is what is going on inside my Uterus now: I am 7 days post 3-day transfer. Hopefully I have a morula (or two) that has dug itself or themselves into the uterine wall. If they are sticking there, the HCG should start secreting into my bloodstream by tomorrow. I have my first Beta test on Friday at 10:30, but won't know the results until after pm .. OH yea, total nail biter!

I always think I have pregnancy symptoms, especially the size and soreness of my boobs, the slight twinges and cramps (could also be a cycst) and since yesterday, a constant slight nagging headache. I'm also taking progesterone, so these symptoms could all be from that- and that would SUCK!
I'm staying super positive and know that the rest is up to God. He has heard my prayers for the last 11 months......
This is what happens in a 3- day transfer :
1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt… Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt….Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
(as of today, 2/18/13, I am here)7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt…Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt…More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt…More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt…HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT
I have been going STIR-CRAZY! I ran out of things to clean and organize at home, and decided, I won't do my normal Tina workouts and I promise not to run, but I HAVE to move a little! I went to the gym and did a light total body workout. Just to give you an idea, I usually workout for 1.5 hours a day incorporating cardio and weights. Today I warmed up on the Arc trainer for 10 minutes, not allowing my heart rate to go above 130. During my workouts, I did NO cardio, just lifted, and mostly in a seated position. I USUALLY burn between 500-800 calories in a workout, today? HA! 214! Oh and yea, I felt weak, and lazy! But I HAD to do something!

On with my day, and hopefully, this week will fly by and each day my little Embryos will be growing and giving me signs they are with me.....
